For the second time in a row, Rotte was awarded the title of "Family-friendly company in the Paderborn district". At an excellently organized awards event in the hangar of Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport, the seal was presented by District Administrator Christoph Rüther and Eva Leschinski, Head of the Competence Center Women and Work OWL.

Reconciliation of family and career increasingly important

"Family friendliness is becoming increasingly important in companies. This is also shown by the number of companies receiving the award for the first time this year, which is just under half," explains Christoph Rüther. "Family friendliness is also a key decision-making factor when choosing an employer. Here there is a great opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises to set themselves apart from the large corporations and to secure decisive competitive advantages," the district administrator continues to emphasize.

A total of 74 companies from the Paderborn district, with a workforce of 6 - 2,000 employees, received the "family-friendly" rating this year. "Craft businesses or small and medium-sized enterprises in particular often respond with individual one-off solutions when employees need support. The award is intended to raise awareness among both entrepreneurs and employees as to which individual one-off solutions are already being applied and how these can be expanded into offers for all employees," motivates Dr. Angela Siebert from the Kompetenzzentrum Frau und Beruf OWL and coordinator of the procedure in the Paderborn district.

Companies are evaluated by a jury

In the Paderborn district, the "Family-friendly company" award has been presented every two years since 2017. This is awarded in a cooperation alliance of the Competence Center Women and Work OWL, the district of Paderborn, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce East Westphalia to Bielefeld and the Chamber of Crafts East Westphalia-Lippe to Bielefeld. A jury from the associations had evaluated the interested companies in advance in the categories "Flexibilization of working hours and location", "Service and support offers", "Personnel and organizational development", "Corporate culture", "Information and communication", which then resulted in the nominations.
