Learning from the best - this is the approach taken by "furniture making" with the top-class congress "Efficient furniture production in practice", which entered its third round on 27 and 28 November.
Rotte was also represented for the first time this year and had the direct opportunity to present itself to the industry: Dr. Franz-Barthold Gockel gave a lecture on "Smart logistics and handling solutions for the furniture industry in the age of Industry 4.0 - The challenges of "just in sequence" and batch size one", thus hitting the nerve of the time.
The presentation focused on the requirements and examples of flexible manufacturing and logistics. This requires localizing sensor technology, product identification and suitable robot-guided actuator technology in order to be able to react to other logistics strategies and to switch to more efficiency and flexibility.
