Record at Salzkotten Marathon

Participation now a tradition

The 15th Klingenthal Salzkotten Marathon on Sunday, June 2nd was a record-breaking race and will go down in history. On Saturday (Bambini runs) and Sunday, a new record was set with a total of 2,618 participants. Some of our colleagues were also actively involved in the 5km and 10km runs.

In addition, seven of the eight course records were broken. Only in the women's marathon did the old record remain. There were two reasons for this flood of records. Firstly, the weather on Sunday morning was perfect for running. The temperatures were quite cool for Salzkotten and there was hardly any wind, which meant that the runners were able to set a great pace on the flat course. The integrated German University Championships were also responsible for the flood of records. As the sponsor of the Rotte team classification, we would like to thank the more than 300 volunteers who ensured the smooth organization of the event and provided the participants with the usual excellent refreshments after crossing the finish line.

We are delighted to have come second in the 10km race and fifth in the 5km race this year.
