Mechanical engineering company supports services for children and young people
The “Help-Center for Kids” project is relaunching with a revised concept, sending a clear signal about child and youth protection in the city and district of Paderborn.
The aim is to offer children and young people in conflict or emergency situations quick and uncomplicated help, according to the Caritas Association in Paderborn, which is responsible for the project together with the district youth welfare office and the youth welfare office of the city of Paderborn.
The new concept stipulates that every facility must be visited by the project’s coordination team before it can officially become a help point. This ensures that quality standards in terms of child protection are met.
“Our company headquarters is particularly well suited as a contact point for those seeking help: not only are we located between the local boundaries of Obern- and Niederntudorf, but we are also directly on the main road of both towns. Every day, children and young people from „Tudorf“ pass our premises on their way to school, the bus, or the sports field. That’s why we wanted to take up the idea of the help point and put it into practice,” explains Corinna Rotte.
“As parents, we know that children and young people can quickly find themselves in difficult situations,” adds Vera Thebille, HR officer. “We are happy to offer support, for example with minor injuries, using the toilet, after arguments or when they feel unsafe. The visible “Help Point for Kids” sign at our entrance now also signals visually: you are safe here, competent help is available here.”
The Caritas Association praises the commitment in a press release: “With their participation, companies and institutions are making an important contribution to society. They are setting an example of moral courage, assuming social responsibility and actively committing themselves to the common good.”
With each additional participating institution, the network for child and youth protection in the region grows. This creates an increasingly dense network of contact points for children and young people, offering safety and support.
